Violet Pinwheels Phlox is a low-spreading semi-evergreen perennial with trailing dark green awl-shaped foliage.  The dense carpet of notched vivid violet flowers with upturned petals look like pinwheels and bloom from mid to late spring attracting butterflies.  Best flowering in full sun and rich, moist, well-drained soils. Violet Pinwheels have a chance at occasional reblooms in summer and fall.
