Choosing the Perfect Spot

Persimmons are versatile and adaptable to various soil types. They thrive best in locations with full to partial sun exposure and well-draining soil. Avoid windy areas and spots where water collects.

Planting Directions (In-Ground)

Dig a hole twice as wide and just as deep as the root ball.

Place the tree at the same depth it was in the container, filling in soil slightly higher than the ground level.

Generously water the area and spread a 2-inch layer of mulch to retain moisture and suppress weeds.

Support the tree with stakes as it acclimates to its new environment.

Planting Directions (Potted)

Water the tree's root ball thoroughly before planting.

Choose a container three times the size of the root ball for long-term growth.

Use gravel at the bottom for drainage, topped with quality potting soil.

Loosen the roots gently, place the tree in the center, and fill with soil.

Water thoroughly and place the tree in a sunny spot for optimal growth.

Watering

Ground-planted trees need deep watering once a week, while potted ones may require more frequent attention, especially in hot weather.

Pruning

Wait a year before pruning. Focus on ensuring proper light penetration and air circulation. Remove any dead or damaged branches during dormancy.

Fertilizing

Fertilize with a balanced organic formula in late winter or early spring, when new growth is observed.
