California Privet is a dense fast-growing evergreen shrub with an upright mounding habit often used as a hedge.  Produces highly fragrant white flower clusters through spring, though while attractive the scent is considered unpleasant  by many.  Best color in full sun and moist well-drained soil.  Despite the common name, it is not native.
