Eryngium planum 'Blue Glitter' - Blue Glitter Sea Holly

Blue Glitter Sea Holly is an upright herbaceous perennial with toothed medium green foliage.  Dark blue stems host an egg shaped cluster of steel blue flowers with dramatic thorny brackets of the same color throughout summer.  Grows best in full sun with dry, fast-draining soils.  Drought and salt tolerant once established.

MAINTENANCE NEEDS: Low Maintenance.  Rich or moist soils will cause the stems to flop and require staking.  No serious pests or diseases.  Susceptible to root rot in slow-draining soils.  Watch for slugs, snails, and aphids.

LANDSCAPE USES:  Accents or Group Plantings, Borders, Woodland Garden, Rock Gardens, Groundcover, and Containers.
